Funds allocation

Community Tiers

We allocate funds contributed via Community tiers as follows:

Prices in this tier include VAT / sales tax. The actual tax rate imposed on us will vary based on the country of origin of payments and is calculated by the payment processor. Our funds allocation roughly assumes a VAT rate of 21%, which is that of Belgium and provides a reasonable worst-case estimate.

Professional Tiers

We allocate funds contributed via Professional tiers as follows:

VAT / sales tax will be added to prices in these tiers by the payment processor.

Fine print

All numbers are estimates. See the ledger on our Open Collective page for actual financial transactions which take place.

Hosting fees include charges from hosting providers, Open Collective platform fees, and payment processor fees.

Expenses are charges submitted by our contributers via the Open Collective platform, either for goods purchased for the platform or for time spent working on the platform. Every expense is backed by an invoice and must be approved by the admin team before being claimed.

If actually incurred hosting fees and taxes cannot be met from their allocated funds, the expense funds will be used to compensate.
